The middle part is back for spring

runway-middle-parts

A lot of runway hair trends are hard to follow, but we’ve found one that’s easy to replicate and adapt to different hair types: the middle part!

The photos above are from runways at Gap, Versace and PHI, while Calvin Klein, Balenciaga and more also got in on the middle part action.

The easiest way to try this trend is with beachy waves, as seen at Gap. To make them less crazy and more work appropriate, mist Redken Fabricate on damp hair, blow dry it using your fingers and then create a center part. (If you create the part first you’ll get less body on top.) Help keep your waves fab and reduce frizz by applying a wave gel or Schwarzkopf Osis Loopy Curl Cream.

For the sleeker looks at Versace and PHI, you’ll need to do a little more work! Blow-dry hair straight, create a middle part and gather hair into a smooth, low ponytail. (This may require a straightening iron, depending on the texture of your hair.) Section by section, take the ponytail and spritz Fudge Liquid Erekt on each piece and flat iron. Finish with Redken Vinyl Glam and Redken Quick Dry.

While this is all about the stark straight middle part, if that doesn’t flatter your face, don’t be afraid to take the part a little to the left or right – whatever looks best on you!
