Summer 09 swimwear flaunts – or creates – curves

I know, we’ve been just mad for pin-up styles lately. Pin-up girl hair, pin-up girl makeup and now pin-up girl swimwear. But we can’t deny a trend when it’s hot!
The bikini above from Diane von Furstenberg’s resort 09 collection, which can barely be called a bikini by today’s bare-all-on-the-beach standards, is just one in a wide array of high-waisted, retro silhouettes heating up swimwear runways.
The push-up, underwire bra cups of most of these swimsuits are perfect for the girl who wants a little help up top, and the rushing on the DVF swimsuit above helps create curves on the hip (even if you can’t tell on the stick-thin model!). So if you’ve got a boyish body that’s how these suits can work for you.

The ample coverage, made-for-cleavage tops and waist-highlighting bottoms can help a girl who’s already got curves really show them off. Plus, you can easily hide a round bottom with skirty silhouettes, like at Spring 2009 shows Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana above.
There were even some one-pieces in the new collections! Like Michael Kors Spring 2009, and again DVF, below.
