Sordid Skin Sins: The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Skin Care
When it comes to looking after our skin, we can all be a bit lazy. Unfortunately all those sordid skin sins can soon add up and before you know it you’re avoiding mirrors religiously. To bypass mirror avoidance syndrome altogether I’ve come up with five lazy fixes that will make bad skin days a thing of the past.
Skin Sin 1: You always leave your make-up on for bed. You just can’t be bothered to remove it and your skin doesn’t know what time it is anyway so surely it will be fine to remove it in the morning…right?
Lazy Fix: Keep a pack of Dermalogica Skin Purifying Wipes on your bedside table. They are quick and easy to use and although you’re right in saying your skin doesn’t know what time it is, sleep is valuable restorative time for your whole body so you need to de-clog those pores before you turn out the light.
Skin Sin 2: You’ve been out on a drinking binge since 6 o clock and it’s now 4am. All you want to do is fall into bed but you can already feel the spots brewing ready to rear their heads when you finally rise tomorrow afternoon.
Lazy Fix: Take a large glass of water to bed and force yourself to drink at least half of it before you pass out. Alcohol is really bed for the skin, especially if left to fester over night so do your best to flush it out of your system as quickly as you can.
Skin Sin 3: You wear huge quantities of make-up because you think you need to just to look okay.
Lazy Fix: Ultimately this is an issue with self-esteem but if you really feel you must put make-up on with a trowel at least stick to light-weight formulas such as Bed Head Glamma Whipped Foundation. As it’s a mousse it won’t clog your pores but will still give you excellent coverage.
Skin Sin 4: You’ve decided you don’t need to bother with separate eye products.
Lazy Fix: Apply an intensive anti-aging moisturiser to the whole face so you don’t need to use separate products. I recommend Dermalogica AGE Smart Super Rich Repair cream to really stop fine lines in their tracks and improve the over-all quality of the skin.
Skin Sin 5: You don’t use hand cream, you’ve got enough going on without having to worry about your hands too.
Lazy Fix: Hands can give away your age even quicker than your face so it’s important to look after them. If you can’t be bothered with a daily hand cream treat them once a week with Skintruth Replenishing Hand Mask. This product is specifically designed to nourish and revive your mitts, no matter what you put them through!
