Shining Stars of the British Academy Television Awards
The glam factor was ultra high at the 2008 British Academy Television Awards. Read on to find out who my best dressed were on the red carpet!
British Television’s most prestigious night of the year, the British Academy Television Awards, also known as the BAFTA Television Awards, were held tonight in London.
Among the winners were James Corden, who won Best Comedy Performance for his role in surprise hit comedy Gavin and Stacey, Holby City which won Best Continuing Drama, Fone Jacker which won Best Comedy Programme and Heroes which won Best International Show.
However, the real star shine was on the red carpet!
Among my best dressed was Welsh classical singer Katherine Jenkins whose curves looked fabulous and sexy in a strapless, satin, navy pencil dress. She kept things classy with an old Hollywood hairstyle and her skin was completely glowing. Everything else was simple with just a simple and delicate silver pendant, and black bow detailed peep toes. Love it! This was my favourite look of the night.
Also wearing the current It colour navy, was one of the Dancing with the Stars contestants, actress and presenter Kelly Brook. Like Katherine, Kelly also channelled old Hollywood glam in a slinky floor length satin gown worn with a white fur wrap. I hope it was faux fur otherwise she’ll be crossed off my best dressed list!!
I also think Kelly needs to change up her quiffed back, hair sprayed, curly hair look because it’s looking a little boring and dated. She needs something younger and funkier. Apart from that though the dress was slinky with just a little bit of sparkle the make-up was understated and the white satin clutch was gorgeous.
Dancing with the Stars winner Alesha Dixon opted for bold colour and prints with the perfect dress for Summer. She wore a layered cream gown with a bold, trendy, print and a plunging neckline and silver embellished details. She teamed the dress with a silver clutch and silver dangly earrings for a beautiful, feminine look.
Finally we have the newly single Melinda Messenger who went all out glam in a strapless silver full skirted ball gown with diamante bodice and contrasting crinkled skirt. Of course she had her usual tumbling blonde curls and tanned skin and she was carrying an adorable little silver clutch. She looked like a bit of a princess and just about avoided tacky.
