Matthew Williamson for H&M launches today!

The Matthew Williamson for H&M collection is finally launching and Williamson is unleashing his colorful, 80s inspired aesthetic on the masses. If the girls at the mall didn’t already wear enough neon, they will now – though at least they’ll get a sophisticated silhouette out of the deal. The first wave of shipments is hitting the 200 H&M stores that get all the special collections, but on May 14 a second shipment will go to all 1,700 locations.
For me the standout of this collection is the printed ruffle gown on Daria Werbowy in the featured campaign image above. I really love this print. The dresses in the collection in general are all highlights, if you like loud prints. Which, if you’re shopping for Matthew Williamson you must be.

But it’s not all dresses. The collection of cashmere, leather, sequin and silk pieces will also include shorts, pantsuits and skirts that range in price from $50 to $350.

“We like his signature style, colorful patterns, and ethnic influences,” said Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative director, of Williamson. “We wanted everybody to have a chance to own some of the collection.”
