Kate Moss: The 2009 Collection Reviewed
I have to admit a rather guilty secret: I’ve never been a big fan of Kate Moss, or at least not of what she represents. I know, I know it’s against the Fashionista Code of Honour to insult the woman who revolutionised the skinny jeans look…but I’m not really a fan of those either and sometimes I just get a bit sick of women thinking that looking like Kate Moss is the only way to get a man’s head to turn in their direction…then again I suppose that’s not really her fault!
In spite of my somewhat unfounded prejudice, I have perused her new TopShop collection that hit the stores today on both sides of the Atlantic and am pleased to report that Ms Moss has really done British women proud! Below I’ve posted some of my top picks from her new range and if you want to get your mitts on them I suggest you act fast. Even without Kate’s name on the label all of these garments would be absolute must-haves for this season and beyond!
My favourite piece from the whole collection has to be this gorgeous Art Deco Top in taupe. The glittery, glistening detail is extremely eye-catching and that lovely empire line belt draws all the attention right where you want it. Admittedly it will cost you £80.00 but we are talking the Kate Moss collection here, not the bargain bin at Primani.
Next up is this adorable ruffle detail tiered dress in an elegant dusky pink. This 1920s-esque garment comes complete with a beautiful beaded belt that will really make you stand out from the crowd. On top of all this despite its delicacy this garment is machine washable making trips to the dry cleaner a thing of the past. Considering the dress costs £100.00 however, you probably will need to cut corners wherever possible!
Last but by no means you can fly your way to fashion heaven with this wonderful wing detail jacket. The beaded shoulder design makes this item a creative addition to your closet and it is such a versatile piece you could team it with almost anything in your existing wardrobe. The jacket is currently priced at £120.00 and as with all of the items from the Kate Moss collection is available online and in Topshop stores from today.
