Fashion Face-Off: Alesha and Geri!

Both Strictly Come Dancing winner Alesha Dixon and Spice Girl Geri Halliwell attended the Galaxy British Book Awards in London yesterday, but who dressed better?!

Ex-girl group members, Alesha of Mis-teeq and Geri of the Spice Girls squared off on the red carpet last night at the Galaxy British Book Awards in their glad rags. But who came out on top?

The bubbly and always smiling Alesha, looked sultry in a black chiffon ruffled mini dress with crossed over back straps. The look was very flirty and sexy and showed off the fabulous figure she got whilst competing on (and winning) last year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

She wore her long dark hair in a sleek ponytail to contrast the tiered frills of the dress, and she accessorised with a matching gold clutch and gold rount toe pumps. She also had on a trendy chunky gold bracelet and subtle little earrings, letting the dress take centre stage.

For even more added glam, the lovely Alesha wore raunchy red nail polish and glossy lips. The whole outfit is very grown-up glam and was in stark contrast to Geri’s look.

After beating out Eastender’s Matt di Angelo to win the Strictly Come dancing crown, 29 year old Alesha has starred in British movie Milestones, due out later this year, and released her debut album Fired Up in Japan. She’s also stated that she will be releasing new material sometime this year and putting on some live concerts, can’t wait!

Ginger Spice, as she is affectionately known, on the other hand, went for the polar opposite of Alesha’s look with a pretty girly outfit. The once raunchy Spice Girl kept things demure and young looking in a white strapless 50s style prom dress with a ribbon waist sash and netted underksirt. Like a princess!

The full skirt and fitted bandeau top is very trendy for Spring 2008 but to keep it from looking too “little girl-ish”, Geri accessorised with sassy pointed silver court shoes.

She finished off the feminine look with soft spiral curls and a delicate little necklace. You really can’t get more girly than this outfit and it is perfect for anyone with a summer prom coming up!

35 year old Geri, who finished her reunion tour with her fellow Spice Girls a couple of months ago, recently debuted her new boyfriend, dancer Ivan FlipZ Velez, at the Idol Gives Back event on the other side of the pond. Let’s hope she’s finally found love!

I personally can’t pick because both looks are so different and great in their own ways, but I guess at a push I’d say Alesha. Just because I love that dress! It’s so hot!
