Pete Doherty has been voted ‘Hero of the Year’ at the NME awards and I sit here drinking my morning coffee wondering “Has the world gone insanely stark raving mad?!” Come on people! How on earth can this greasy untalented drug addict be influential in any award ceremony, and what on earth does this say about the state of the music industry and this country if we have voted for him? Best known for dating Kate Moss and his persistent drug use than for his actual ‘Band’ (and I use that term loosely) Babyshambles. NME and its readers seem to be under a very different impression of the guy than me that’s for sure! Take a look at his oh so lovely pictures below ladies…
Elsewhere Cheryl Cole is preparing for her final showdown with Ashley; I expect news will be in relatively soon as to whether the couple will be staying together or divorcing. Rumour has it that Cheryl has asked Ashley to go with her to see a marriage counsellor after his please that he’ll “Do Anything” to save their marriage. I guess we’ll soon see what they decide. Good luck to Cheryl either way and I hope she finds some form of happiness.
In a quick Britney update for you all this week the latest is that she appears to be sticking to claims that she’s cleaning up her act and has so far been able to see her children a few times which is great news. Let’s hope she stays on the road to recovery and doesn’t go back to her old ways.
Fans of the US Show ‘The Hills’ will be pleased to know that it is returning next month! I must confess I’ve become somewhat addicted to this, even though it’s so obviously scripted! We are promised ‘Big Changes’ this season, quite what those changes are going to be I’m not sure but I’ve heard rumours of Audrina forming a possible friendship with Lauren’s arch nemesis Heidi. Bet that doesn’t go too well if it’s true. Brody also has a new girlfriend and we see what Lauren got up to when she visited Paris at the end of last season. Sure it’s cheesy stuff but I love this show and seriously can’t wait to start watching it again!

I wish I was there to see the moment the Hero Of The Year was announced. They open the envelope and they say, “It’s Pete Doherty.”
