Celebs Wear Spring Trends – Florals!
Celebrities provide great style inspiration when getting ready for a new fashion season, and what are many wearing right now?? Florals!
Florals are perfect for spring and summer. I mean, flowers are currently popping up everywhere in nature, so why not on clothes too?! And while you can sport floral tops, floral skirts, floral shoes and floral bags, there’s nothing girlier and prettier than a floral dress.
Now don’t think of florals as old fahsioned or granny like, they can actually be very cool and sexy when worn right.
For those who don’t consider themselves girly girls, try taking inspiration from the adorable Rachel Bilson (above centre) who wore an orange dress with a very subtle floral print whilst out doing her gorcery shopping earlier this month. See she’s normal too! Kinda. By teaming the dress with black tights, flat black knee-high boots and a long black cardigan, not only is this look warm enough for British spring time but also it’s far from a sickeningly sweet flowery look.
If you’d prefer your flowers to be a little more bold, try following in Lauren Conrad’s footsteps. The reality star/desginer wore a strappless maxi dress from her own Lauren Conrad Collection (which debuted yesterday at L.A. Fashion Week! Check out my blog for full coverage) whilst out and about in Beverly Hills.
I guess in Beverly Hills the weather is a little better than here, but this look will be great if we finally get a summer this year! The strapless top will keep you cool but as it’s a maxi you can also cover your legs on the days you can’t be bothered to shave! And the large black and white monochrome floral print is tres chic.
But maybe you’re looking for a something a little more special and a little more glam? Well then you can still wear florals! Check out “Ray” actress Kerry Washington’s gorgeous floral gown that she wore to the Women’s Project 23rd Annual Women of Achievement Awards Gala in NYC recently.
The strapless fitted gown was covered in a bold multicoloured floral print and had a trendy ruffled bottom. The vibrant colours looked fabulous on her and as the dress is such a statement piece, stylish Kerry was careful to keep her accessories simple.
So I hope I’ve now convinced you all, that no matter who you are, you can wear florals this spring and be on trend. And if you’re still a little daunted by the thought of an all over flower power print, try accessorising a plain outfit with a cute floral bag! Perfect.
