Ellen and Portia to Marry, Ashlee and Pete Already Married and BB 9 On the way!

Now that it is legal for lesbian and gay couples to marry in California TV Star and Host Ellen DeGeneres recently revealed live on her show that she and long term girlfriend Portia de Rossi will be getting married. Portia shot to fame on the hit TV show Ally McBeal and the two have been one of Hollywood’s most publicised lesbian couples during their relationship and are both apparently overjoyed at the fact they can now legally marry and commit to eachother fully.
Speaking of weddings, Ashlee Simpson and her Fall Out Boy boyfriend Pete Wentz have recently tied the knot at a private ceremony last Saturday at the Simpson family home in Encino, CA. I’m sure most of you out there remember the amazing movie ‘Point Break’ which shot Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze to stardom 17 years ago. Us women probably remember it more for those great shots of Keanu and Patrick without their shirts on but hey, it was a great movie!!
Well, believe it or not, after all this time point break is due to get a big budget sequel! Now I’m not sure quite how I feel about all these Hollywood remakes lately, I can’t help but wonder why people don’t seem to want to make original movies anymore. Tonight is the night of The 2008 British Soap Awards. Who will you be voting for?? Some of the awards up for grabs are: Sexiest Male and Female, Best Actor and Actress, Best Comedy Performance, Villain of the Year, Spectacular Scene of the Year, Best On-Screen Partnership and of course the ultimate accolade, Best British Soap. Coronation Street won last year but personally I’d love to see Eastenders of Hollyoaks win this year! Hollyoaks has had some of the most amazing storylines this past year and I think it’s possibly one of the most underrated soaps on our screens at the moment. This Morning TV Duo Fern and Phillip will be presenting so it should be a giggle to watch, I’m looking forward to watching it on ITV Wednesday! Read more

Kate and Matt Shine at Premier Ashlee & Pete are Engaged Plus More!

Kate Hudson is one of my favourite female movie stars. She always seems to display that right mix of style and likeability which almost makes her seem down to earth. With a mum as famous as Goldie Hawn and a star studded family background it’s hard to believe she has managed to keep her feet on the ground quite so well! At a recent movie premier for her upcoming movie Fools Gold she looked elegant as ever alongside co star Matthew McConaughey who seemed unable to take his eyes off her. The pair have great on screen chemistry as we’ve already witnessed in ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days’ so I’m looking forward to watching Fools Gold and seeing how it rates in comparison. Early reviews haven’t been good, but I’m not going to let that put me off this one.
Fallout Boy singer Pete Wentz and Popstar Ashlee Simpson have finally broken news of their engagement. Rumours had been circling for weeks that Pete had popped the question but there was nothing official confirmed until now. Ashlee issued the following statement:
“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best.
“Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us.”
So, I wonder if she will be going down the whole ‘Newlyweds’ route and follow big sister Jessica and her ex husband Nick Lachey into an MTV style fly on the wall show about their wedding and its preparation? With more and more stars doing this nowdays, it would come as no surprise to me to see this happen! Would you watch it though?
Lastly, I was browsing the internet today and spotted that the official details of the new and improved ‘Gladiators’ show have been announced. With Kirsty Gallacher and Ian Wright presenting, it starts next month and we can expect to see a whole range of new faces take on the role of the Gladiators. Whilst I was never a huge fan of the original series I think that this could be a fun but extremely cheesy way to spend an evening in front the TV! The new Gladiators look quite good, and I’m sure that it will be worth watching the first episode to get a glimpse of these fit guys in the flesh!
