Body Blocking, Colour Popping Spring Trends!
Usually the wait for summer fashion is painful. The high street is full of chunky knitwear that doesn’t do anyone any favours and the colours are invariably washed out creams and greys which aren’t exactly the most inspiring of shades. This year however, things are very different. Sick of the same old style cycles all of your favourite high street stores have stocked themselves silly with vibrant body blocking, colour popping garments!
Block colour clothes create a fabulous retro look and will help you add a bit of vibrancy to the idle grey days of Spring. The trick with this look is not to be shy. Go for deep pinks, yellows, greens, purples and even orange… and yes you can wear them all at the same time. Clashing your colours is very 2009 so don’t be afraid to mix and match previously taboo combinations to create your own unique look. Don’t forget to accessorize too, it’s a great way of stacking up the shades without it seeming over bearing.
If you find all this a bit too garish you can space out your colour with neutral hues such as black, beige and peach, but don’t dumb it down too much. The whole point of this look is to be bold and beautiful about your choice of colours. This rainbow revival has come about due to the release of ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ in which Becky Bloomwood carries off some pretty brave outfits. You perhaps don’t have to go quite so far as a multicoloured bridesmaid dress, it may be a bit over the top for your weekly grocery shop, but there’s no reason why you can’t brighten up the aisles with one or two statement pieces. It would at least give the check-out staff something to talk about!
