America and Alexis Dress For Their Shapes

Whether you’re a skinny minnie or a curvy lady, you can look great in a party dress for that special occassion. Just make sure you follow the rules to dress for your shape!

Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera (above left) and Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel (above right) are good friends and co stars in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants film and its sequal. That however, is where their similarities stop.

26 year old Alexis is tall, slim and was once a fashion model whilst 23 year old America is shorter and voluptuous and has starred in the movie “Real Women Have Curves”! So how do two such different shaped women look equally fantastic whilst attending Warner Bros. Pictures Presents “The Big Picture ‘08″ in Las Vegas last Thursday? It’s easy - they wear the right things for their figures!

The beautiful America wore a form fitting and curve hugging black strapless pencil dress with trendy ruffles down the front. The firm structure of the dress held her in all the right places whilst showing off her fantastic shape, plus black is very slimming. There are just enough well placed ruffles to add interest without adding bulk and nude coloured peep toes are THE shoes to wear to lengthen shorter legs! Shoes a similar colour to your skin blend in your legs therefore adding inches to them.

The equally gorgeous Alexis, who is an ex-girlfriend of Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia aka Peter Petrelli, wore a mink coloured shift dress with black tights and black pumps. Tall, thin girls look fab in shifts which can look shapeless on a curvier girl. The short length showed off her great legs which looked stylish in black opague tights and classic pumps. The soft mink colour looked good with her subtle tan and I love the contrasting edging around the hem and neckline.

Alexis has piercing blue eyes and her eyebrow skimming fringe draws attention to them while wearing her fringe up allows the detail of the dress to be seen. On the other hand, America’s soft natural hair looked so feminine and pretty.

Basically, whatever your best assett is, show it off! If it’s your legs, get them out in a mini, if it’s your hourglass shape shop it off in a fitted style!
